Amos Y.C. Wong is currently the Chief Executive Officer of AOS Conventions & Events Sdn Bhd.

Industry Contributions: Amos was the Chairman for Education with MACEOS from 2007 – 2012, Chief Executive Officer of MACEOS (15.06.14 – 30.04.18), PCM Trainer and currently Vice President, Conference – MACEOS for the term 2018-2020.

Founding Council Member of Malaysian Society of Association Executives (MSAE), (2017-Current). Achievements: He joined AOSCE in July 2006 to helm the XVIII World Congress of Gynecology & Obstetrics (FIGO) 2006 which attracted more than 8,000+ international delegates.

Under the stewardship of Amos, AOSCE has bid for and secured no less than 40 international conferences and congresses with a combined total exceeding 25,000+ international delegates.

Amos has assisted local associations including Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) in the preparation of bid documents for submitting bids for hosting international association meetings in Malaysia.

Amos brings with him vast knowledge on strategic planning, management, marketing and relevant core competencies in implementing a successful international conference or congress.

Angie Stephen is a 20-year veteran of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL). She is currently Managing Director for Royal Caribbean’s operations in Asia Pacific. She oversees all commercial and operational activities for the company’s brands, Royal Caribbean International and Azamara Club Cruises in the region.

Prior to this, Stephen was Associate Vice President of Market Development for Greater China, in charge of developing sales distribution, brand marketing and partnerships. She was also previously based in Miami, Florida at the RCL Global Headquarters, where she has held many leadership positions within the sales and marketing organization, including District Sales Manager, Trade Strategy, Training & Event Planning and Marketing Operations.

Azhar Azib   Azhar Azib

A Data Architect by training and a Database Marketer and Transformation Specialist by practice, Azhar’s over 30 year corporate career has given him the opportunity to lead and participate in significant capability building and organisational transformation projects at regional and global levels, at companies like Global Sources, IBM and Microsoft. The common denominator across all of these assignments is data and the adoption of data enabled capabilities to drive better business decisions and performance.

Today, his work spans all areas that come into contact with data - from Enterprise Information Architecture and Governance to Data-Driven Customer Strategy and compliance with Data Protection Legislation – basically helping businesses transform into smart, data driven organisations.

Azhar is also a Certified Information Privacy Manager and Technologist (CIPM, CIPT), accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He sits on the Executive Committee and is also the Data Protection Officer for the Data-Driven Marketing Association of Singapore (DMAS).

Outside of work, Azhar is an endurance running and adventure junkie, having completed more than 100 full and ultra-marathons around the world.

Daniel CHUA is Founder and Chief Executive of AONIA, an Experiential communications agency that has supported a distinguished portfolio of clients including Fortune 500 firms and government agencies to Engage, Energise and Empower stakeholders worldwide through impactful and transformative experiences since 2002.

A consummate communicator and events professional , Daniel has conceptualised and delivered Branding and Integrated Marketing campaigns, and created Events ranging from Meetings & Incentives to Luxury product launches. A Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) who has architectured many successful Events, he has also received accolades as an effective Speaker, Master-of-Ceremonies and Moderator in countries including Singapore, Malaysia, China and Korea.

A strong believer in the power of Events to Motivate and Inspire, Daniel’s understanding of the Profession has been honed since 1999. He received the inaugural AFECA Young Professional Award (2015), and authored and delivers the Professional Events Management Course (PEvM) for SACEOS, accredited by the EIC. As Vice-President for SACEOS, he conceptualised the Singapore MICE Challenge, growing since 2014 as a platform for youth development, in partnership with the PCMA and numerous Institutes of Higher Education in Singapore.

Professionally, Daniel is a People-oriented person who believes in the personal touch and going the extra mile to support Clients’ needs, backed by a team with the same convictions. Farriek Tawfik   Farriek Tawfik

Farriek Tawfik is the Director of Southeast Asia for Princess Cruises, which is part of Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest travel leisure company. With more than 30 years of experience in the travel industry, he was appointed to the role in 2013 and was responsible for setting up Princess Cruises’ operations in Southeast Asia. In his role, he leads the cruise line’s commercial operations, customer service and sales and marketing activities across the region.

Tawfik is based in Singapore and also oversees regional sales and marketing for Cunard, Princess Cruises’ sister brand.

Previously, Tawfik headed the cruise business unit of Pacific Arena Pte Ltd where he was responsible for sales and marketing activities for Princess Cruises and Cunard in Singapore and Malaysia since 1994. Prior to that, he served as general manager for Suci Travel & Tours in Kuala Lumpur, and also held managerial roles for Paradise Travel and Tours, and Burswood Travel and Tours.

Freddy Muller is a 26 year veteran in the hospitality industry, while most of his career he has enjoyed working in the cruise industry; he had the opportunity of working in Hotels, Resorts, and Charter Air. Some might say his careers started when he did his homework in his grandfather’s office at a hotel in Venezuela, but the reality was at Celebrity / Fantasy Cruises in reservations. Within a year he got a taste of the Corporate & Incentive market and has been involved in this market ever since. Currently he is the Vice President of Corporate & Incentive Sales at Silversea Cruises.

Hugo Slimbrouck   Hugo Slimbrouck

Belgian born Hugo Slimbrouck spent his entire career in the hospitality and meetings industry. After years in hotel sales and marketing with some leading brands from 1976 to 1995, he moved to open the convention bureau of his hometown Bruges. Following this he joined the event agency sector as managing director of a medium sized agency in Brussels and moved to the MCI Group in 2006. Here he participated in the development of the Ovation Global DMC brand and is responsible for the entire worldwide network of strategic partners. Hugo Slimbrouck is a past president of SITE (the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence) and past chair of JMIC (the Joint Meetings Industry Council). On behalf of SITE, Hugo looks after the EMEA region as director of business development.

Iain Bitran is the Executive Director of The International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) and has overseen the association’s growth since 2003. Iain has organised over 30 international innovation conferences, developing strong networks in the process. He has been involved in many innovation related projects and has also edited and published numerous journal issues and articles in the field of innovation management.

As a business graduate with more than 30 years of experience, Iain has worked with a variety of enterprises and cultures worldwide. Prior to joining ISPIM, Iain co-founded Enterprizer Technologies where he developed decision-support tools for the management community and worked on many projects for national and regional development agencies and for the European Commission and United Nations.

Iain is passionate about events and is a regular speaker at conferences around the world, particularly on the subject of how to develop successful events. He was recently appointed as a MICE Ambassador for the City of Fukuoka in Japan.

Since 1 January 2018, Martin Nydegger (46) is the CEO of Switzerland Tourism. He has been a member of the Executive Board since 2008 and was in charge of Business Development until the end of 2017. He had previously managed the ST branch office in Amsterdam for three years. Prior to joining ST, he already held a number of positions in the tourism sector, including six years as Director of the Engadin/Scuol Tourism Board. A native of Bern, Nydegger holds an Executive MBA in Strategic Corporate Management and has repeatedly undergone further training in the field of marketing management. He is married and has a 12-year-old son.

Michael Goh Beng Huat joined Star Cruises in 2000 as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. He assumed the role as the General Manager in Singapore to oversee the Singapore Sales & Marketing Division. In 2008, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales in charge of global sales.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Goh had more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry and has been most instrumental in developing cruise tourism in the Asia Pacific over the past decade.

Mona is the CEO and Founder of Place Business Events and Place Borneo, both are PCOs based in Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur & Borneo (Kuching & Kota Kinabalu) respectively. She holds a Masters in Business Admin (MBA): Entrepreneurship – Excel College, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing & Management – Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia; as well as certificates in Professional Conference Management (PCM) – SACEOS.

Mona is a marketeer by training and a birdwatcher by passion. Her experience range from door-to-door sales, high-school English teacher, marketing strategist in a bank, tour operator, and even a muffin-and-cookie-maker in a cafe! Mona believes in and has passion for guerrilla marketing and inbound marketing. She claims she gets marketing ideas in the shower. As a PCO, she believes heavily in destination marketing and collaborative partnerships among industry players in order to create a critical mass effect of lifting the whole industry and thus grow the individual businesses in the process. When pried off work, she loves birdwatching, camping, reading, playing the guitar, listening to the Beatles, and anything to do with the VW Beetle.

With over 25 years’ experience in organising events, Nicolette has held various event management and strategic roles in PCOs, corporate organisations and not-for-profit associations. She is currently project director for the annual Association of Superannuation of Australia’s Conference – the largest pensions’ event in the world and also manages a national events business unit within ASFA (Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia) collectively responsible for these events over $6M in revenue. She has held various event management and strategic product partnership roles in both commercial businesses (Professional Conference Organisers and Corporate organisations) and not-for-profit associations (Financial Planning Association and ASFA) over her career. Nicolette holds a Bachelor of Arts (Tourism Management) degree from University of Technology Sydney and is a member of the Meetings Industry Association of Australia and Associations Forum.

Noor has been the Regional Director, Asia Pacific of ICCA since 2009. After 16 years with Tourism Malaysia, he joined the business sector in event management, sponsorship and innovative tourism projects, a background that uniquely helps him understand ICCA members' vast range of business cultures and working environments. In his current role, Noor is a vital ambassador for ICCA, representing the organisation at numerous national and regional meeting forums. In addition, he provides training workshops and leads educational seminars in bidding and marketing. Octavio ‘Bobby’ Peralta, affectionately called, “The Association Man,” is presently the Secretary General of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia & the Pacific (ADFIAP) and the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI). In November 2013, he founded the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE) and, in March 2015, initiated the setting up of the Asia-Pacific Federation of Association Organizations (APFAO). He is a long-time member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). A PCAAE-certified professional association executive, he conducts lectures and speaks on association governance and management in the Philippines and abroad. He writes a weekly column in the Philippine Business Mirror, blogs regularly on the subject, and contributes articles to local and international association publications.

Oscar Cerezales   Oscar Cerezales

Oscar Cerezales, born in Barcelona (Spain), has been working in the marketing industry for more than 25 years. Currently, he is a member of the Board Trustees, curator and Chair of a number of building community conferences. Oscar has also been a member of the Board of European chapters of MPI International, Board of Directors of PCMA as well as a Board Member for SITE Latin America.

Oscar currently works at MCI Group, a company with 61 offices in 31 countries and 2,100 talents with a turnover of more than $510 million. MCI Group is a marketing company focused in F2F interaction (events), experiential, data driven campaigns, integrated engagements and consulting and strategic management for companies and associations.

After managing MCI Spain, Oscar moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil to manage MCI throughout the Americas region. Beforehand Oscar had executive positions at Convention Centre Management Companies and consulting and marketing organizations.

Oscar currently resides in Singapore and manages the Asia-Pacific region. Oscar has been a professor at universities in Barcelona, London, Singapore and Milan. In addition to collaborating with various industry publications. Oscar is the father of three children and loves endurance sports.

Richard Holmes   Richard Holmes

Richard has been involved in congress management for many years. He served as a member of the IBE and ILAE executive committees from 1993 - 1999. He was the Treasurer of IBE from 1993 - 1999, and President of IBE from 1997 - 1999. He has served on many international conference committees and has a full understanding of these meetings. Through his position on the association's executive committees he was instrumental in the creation of European conferences on Epilepsy and brought the 1st Epilepsy and Society conference to Dublin in 1990. He also brought the largest medical conference to Ireland in 1997, when the 22nd International Congres was held in Dublin - this congress attracted over 5,000 delegates. When the ILAE and IBE set up its own congress secretariat office, Richard was appointed International Director of Meetings. He and his team now manage biennial meetings in Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Asia/ Oceania and three meetings in Europe (Research, Medical and Social Issues). In addition, he also organises the International Epilepsy Congress. Richard is a founding member and Past President (2000 - 2005) of the Associations Conference Forum (AC Forum), an amalgamation of 25 of the largest medical conferences in the world.

Shekhar Niyogi is a veteran journalist and travel writer, and a destination marketing consultant since 1985. He is currently the Consultant Editor of M&IT India, a publication of CAT Publications (U.K) group.

He has edited and contributed to, several publications such as Times Travel, The Times of India (where he is a member of the Advisory Editorial Board), TTG Asia, TTGmice, TTG India, Travel Impact Newswire, and several others.

He is an Owner/Director of Travelcorp, a veteran of 32 years in the tourism industry, having worked in leisure and MICE in India and overseas. He is also known as an invited speaker at international conferences. He is a destination marketing consultant to a few European tourism marketing boards and NTOs.

Steve Bloss started in the cruise line industry in 1983 when he served as an advisor to the cruise lines for the US Virgin Islands. From there he founded Worldwide Cruise Associates in 1989 and moved its head offices to Ft Lauderdale in 1992. Not only has he chartered hundreds of ships and delivered many groups, over the years, but he has sailed on a vast majority of the ships available to consumers, giving him his unique knowledge of the industry. As well as running the business, he also currently serves on the advisory boards for CLIA, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and NCL.

Svend Dalgaard   Svend Dalgaard

Svend has been designing meetings and conferences for corporate and association clients for the past 20 years with travel agencies such as Carlson Wagonlit Travel and American Express Global Business Travel.

Combined with his lifelong passion for cruises and cruise ships, he is working on developing the concept of ‘Conferences at Sea’ in the Nordic countries. Drawing on his education in business innovation and extensive experience in designing and planning participant experiences at professional events, Svend has a unique insight into the benefits of events at sea for both event professionals as well as meeting participants.

Svend is a longstanding member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) where he volunteers as a committee member.
